Spring has sprung

Well...Winter never really got started here in Logantown, and last year I missed the boat on a few landscaping items that I was trying to accomplish. This year, I am trying not to fall into the same trap. Because it doesn't look like the weather is going to do anything seriously cold, I have started ordering some spring plantings. Bill has determined that our color palette for  plantings around the house are to be red and white and of course, green...because most bushes and trees are green...but I have discovered this beautiful little rose called Green Romantica which starts out with a green bloom, then fades to white. HA!

The trouble is this little beauty is not very popular in Utah, so I have had to order it from California. Well worth it though.

Last year, I had the landscapers build a little rock zen garden in the back yard, and I had planned on getting a bridge to go from the ice cream cone shaped flag stone over to the rectangle one. The bridge didn't happen, so yesterday I ordered one.

You can see the red bridge I ordered by clicking here:

I also had the plumber install an area for an outside drinking fountain in the back yard. it will go here:

If you look closely you can see a flagstone set in the grass and a small pipe sticking up near the end of the concrete on the left. It is perfectly placed to have an out door drinking fountain/short hose for putting out the fire pit. I am now trying to decide what kind of fountain to install. I have looked at an aggregate fountain,
a metal fountain, that can have a pet drinking fountain and hose bibb added, and can be painted my favorite shade of red,

and a  natural stone fountain

Decisions, decisions.

Feel free to leave me a comment if you have any preferences of style of drinking fountain you would like to enjoy when you come to visit me. :-)
