"Fun" run?

When I was a teenager, my cousin Deb and I were both into Jr. High sports, and developed a bit of a friendly rivalry. Now, E1 and Deb's daughter T.H. have a similar rivalry with their High School sports. I know that E3 has a lot to look up too, and she is fairly athletic too, but need to tell her she has no need for worries about possible competition from J.B. and The Boy. Wednesday was their district wide, elementary school, mile long "fun run." Neither J.B. nor The Boy had any idea why they called it that, as they couldn't see ANYTHING fun about it. The Boy ran first, and we are pleased to say did NOT finish last. J.B. ran second, and came in close to the middle of the pack, but nearly passed out afterwards. BOTH of them finished the race though, completing the entire mile. This is quite an accomplishment which cannot be said for many students who just simply quit after 2 of the 4 laps around the track.
We are VERY proud of them both!

365 update

I know it has been a while since I updated my 365, and I realize that with my recent illness I have missed a few days of photo taking. But that's all part of the process called life, right? You have to do the best you can with what you've got. So I put as many photos as I could together for these most recent pages. Maybe my infection will get over soon and I can get back to a normal reality.

Field trip with TECS

One fun thing about being a sub is sometimes you get to go on the field trip! TECS Third grade classes went to the American West Heritage Center for their field trip and let me tag along. Fun times!

Dancing Girl.

Jb sure loves to dance. Even when she was tiny she would wiggle to music and bounce back and forth. This year she has joined a dance team and has competed in 4 competitions. I wonder how she manages to be coordinated at all, when it appears that she grows an inch per month! She works hard and I am proud of her.

Teacher Appreciation Week

This is the beautiful, talented, and SINGLE, Miss Wall. She is the third grade teacher that I have had the honor of working with/for at the Charter School. When I taught third grade she helped me out every day, and then I had the honor of being her Aide for another 2 years. Now I still get to see her often as I substitute around the school. She is a delight and I am pleased to call her my friend. I mean really, how many other people do you know who can pull off a paper hat/bowtie ensemble with such grace? Miss Wall is ...
Awesome!
As cool as Miss Wall is, I have to admit that my FAVORITE teacher of all time was my third grade teacher. He taught me to read when I was only 4, and helped me develop my love of science. I remember looking at ants through magnifying glasses, and collecting leaves to press so we could study them. He taught me to make a solar cooker, the constellations, and the names of all sorts of different birds. Interestingly enough, he also taught me to drive and change a tire. Way to go DAD! You're the best!
Who was your favorite teacher?
