Cabin Dreamin'
All my life I've wanted a cabin. Finally I have one. It is quiet there, and peaceful, and I truly truly love it. I love sitting by the fire and knitting until my eye lids droop. But I also have a brand new pee making, wood chewing, box tearing, poop leaving, bundle of excess energy. I have been to the cabin once since February, and that was in August. Good thing she's cute!

Whole lotta Nothing
Tomorrow is an eventful day for some people close to my heart. Thoughts are floating, day and night, like should I call, should I not...knowing full well I won't. I am not angry at the course of events, I have known, deep down this is how it would all end up. So I am not surprised, not angry. If all are happy then I could be happy too. But I don't know if all are happy, because I am locked out. Locked out because I am nothing. Not mom, not aunt, not cousin, not pizza delivery man, and apparently not friend. Not anything. Not even worth a phone call so I can offer my congratulations, love and support. Not even worth a reply to texts, or Facebook messages sent with words of encouragement. Not even worth returning a phone call, or being called without calling first.I am simply tolerated, like cheap fast food, everyone knows it's there, nobody really hates it, but nobody really wants it either, unless they have no other choice.
Pastor Susan has been giving sermons lately http://mountainpriest.wordpress.com/ that talk about how life isn't fair, and It's God's show anyway, it's not about us....and we just need to suck it up and deal with it... and yeah, I get it. I know it's not really about me, and I so desperately want to just drop it all and not care, I mean no one else is up all night wondering, so it is obviously MY PROBLEM!!!! So, I will do my best to smile pretty for the camera. But behind the facade held together with fragile and breaking, won't stick anymore, little bits of tape is a make believe momma trying to capture a fantasy.
So for now, I'll just say congratulations on tomorrow, my heart. I hope it is everything you want it to be. I hope that you are happy, and that some how, you will feel me thinking of you, and know that you are very, very loved.
And, whenever someone asks "what are you thinking?" and you reply "nothing," I pray, in reality, you were thinking of me.

1. Buy a bunch of 4 inch black plastic pipe parts with no idea of what they are or how they are really used in every day life.
1. Buy a bunch of 4 inch black plastic pipe parts with no idea of what they are or how they are really used in every day life.
2. Assemble all the unknown black bits of plastic until it looks like it could be a cannon.

4. Do happy dance cuz it works!!!!!!
Ahoy Matey! Rope Ladder
Construction of the pirate ship has begun. For starters, I tied a rope ladder that will attach to the main sail.
*** NOTE*** this rope ladder is for decoration purposes only. In NO WAY should this technique be used for a ladder for children to climb on!!!
To construct the rope ladder you will need:
about 100 feet of rope
scissors
something to tie it to such as a fence post.
1. Cut 5 vertical lengths of rope, each 10 feet long.
2. Measure 2 feet from the top of one length of rope then tie a knot. Measure a foot, then tie another knot. Repeat 4 more times so you have 2 feet at the top, then the first knot, then 5 more knots total, then about 1 1/2 feet at the bottom (total 6 knots).
3. Tie all 5 sections of rope to a fence or other stable object.
4. Tie knots in the other 4 lengths of rope, trying to match all knots.
5. Cut 6 horizontal lengths of rope, each 5 feet long.
6. Tie first horizontal length onto first vertical rope just above the first knot. Continue vertically across the ropes to make a "net."
7. Repeat with other 5 horizontal lengths
8. When all knots have been tied onto net, remove net from fence, and tie all rope sections together at top. ( I wound them up, made a loop, and bound it with an extra section of rope.)
