Every year since I have known him, Bill has done some sort of camping/hiking/fishing activity with his dad and/or brothers over the Labor day holiday. The ONLY exception was in 1999 when JB arrived on August 31, and he graciously stayed home with me and the new baby. This year, instead of doing something over Labor day, he decided to enjoy the opportunity to spend a week fishing in Alaska with his dad, and his dad's childhood buddy, Terrell. He took off yesterday (Saturday July 21) and sent us 2 photos today.
I am only guessing the picture on the left is of salmon... but he told JB the photo on the right is of a 69 lb Halibut he caught this morning. It took all three of them to reel it in, and they had to use 2 nets to get it in their tiny little boat. The force of the battle ended up twisting his fishing pole so badly that he had to postpone fishing in the afternoon so he could go purchase a new one. Nor bad for one morning's worth of fishing. Well done, Bill. Well done!
