The Crazy Lady's Easter Egg Hunt 2016

March 12, 2016

We woke to a cold, cloudy and extremely windy day. I was afraid we wouldn't be able to do the egg hunt.  It rained fairly hard for about 20 minutes, but then the sun came out, and the weather turned to a perfectly cloudy but not too cold temperature.

This year I was really interested in knowing how many eggs I had, so we actually counted them as we filled them. After 684 "regular" eggs, 10 golden eggs, and 5 special prizes eggs, we were ready to go. Each year we fill a special USU egg with Swedish Fish just for Big D to find.  Although there have been a few times when someone finds it before him, he usually he finds it, and finds it really fast. This year, JB came up with a perfect hiding spot to give him a challenge. We used tongs to reach out from the deck and hid it in the satellite dish.

He came over a bit early and started hunting for it.

After about 30 minutes we gave him the clue that the egg was hidden in the back yard area. We lined everyone up for the front porch photo and the hunt was on!

Big D is still looking.....

Baby Ruby, 4 weeks, and way cuter than any Easter Bunny

Still searching....

Finally after about 2 hours, Big D figures out where it is. But now, how to get it?

In true Big D fashion, he JUMPS OVER THE RAILING and reaches into the dish to get his egg.

From now on we may have to call it the CRAZY D's Easter Egg Hunt!
