Caribbean Christmas 12/22

After a very much needed night's rest, we woke to the sounds of parrots in the trees, and headed out for a day of snorkeling. Our first spot is called Andrea 1 & 2. Notice the signs are in Dutch, then English, then Spanish.

We saw fabulous coral formations and a sweet little turtle.

After a few hours we headed down the road to  a spot called Jeff Davis.

Here we had our lunch and planned on heading out, but the waves seemed to be crashing a bit to hard for our tired bodies. So we just watched as some fish hunted in the waters below us.

After lunch we headed up the road a bit further to a place called 1000 steps. There are actually on 72, but the legend states that it feels like 1000 when you are trying to climb back up.

 Another little turtle.

After a few more hours of snorkeling we decided to drive around a bit. We met a sweet feral donkey who was sad that we didn't have any carrots.

And we were reminded that it was the Christmas Season.  It did feel a bit strange to be celebrating Christmas in 82* weather.

While we waited for our dinner, we could hear Christmas carols being sung at an apartment party in the complex behind us. It was strange (in a great way) listening to Silent Night with a reggae beat. You can check out the sound here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r25H3n4d3-Q
